Am I a candidate for dental implants?
Whether an implant fits you depends on your bone, your gum health, your medical history, and habits like smoking. A consultation and a 3D CBCT scan show what’s possible, and if an implant isn’t the right choice, we’ll tell you and explain the alternatives.
What decides candidacy.
Bone: there needs to be enough, or it can be built up with grafting. Gums: gum disease is treated first. Medical history: some conditions and medications affect healing; when a medical condition could affect your care, we consult with your physician before treatment. Habits: smoking affects healing, and we’ll talk honestly about what it means for your plan.
When an implant isn’t the answer.
If a tooth can be saved, root canal treatment is a real option, which we refer to a trusted endodontist. A tooth-supported bridge, a removable partial denture, or complete dentures may also fit. We don’t treat implants as the only answer.
How we find out.
