Wisdom teeth, evaluated in 3D first.

At MCDI, wisdom teeth are usually evaluated with a 3D CBCT scan before any decision is made. Many are removed in our office. Complex wisdom teeth close to the nerve are referred out, and we’ll tell you plainly if yours is one of them.

Why we look in 3D first.

A 3D CBCT scan shows the position of each wisdom tooth and how close its roots are to the nerve and sinus. That helps Dr. Patel decide whether the tooth can be removed in our office or should be referred. Not every wisdom tooth needs to come out; he’ll explain what he sees and what he recommends.

In our office, or referred.

Many wisdom teeth are removed in our office. Complex cases close to the nerve are referred out, and we coordinate the referral.

Comfort during removal.

Local anesthesia keeps the area numb. Oral anti-anxiety medication is available for nervous patients, and IV sedation or general anesthesia can be arranged in our office, provided by an independent physician or dental anesthesiologist and billed separately by that provider.

After removal.

You’ll receive written instructions for recovery, and the same guidance is on our <a href=”SurgeryCareHybrid.dc.html” style=”font-weight: 600″>Before &amp; after surgery</a> page.
