Replacing one tooth with a dental implant.

A single-tooth implant replaces one missing tooth with an implant in the jawbone and a crown on top, without reshaping the neighboring teeth the way a traditional bridge does. At MCDI, Dr. Patel plans it from a 3D CBCT scan, places the implant in our office, and delivers the final crown himself.

From consultation to final crown.

First, a consultation and a 3D CBCT scan so Dr. Patel can see your bone, nerves, and sinuses. Next, your plan and your fee in writing; guided surgery is available when your case calls for it. The implant is placed in our office and given time to heal, and grafting adds time when it’s needed. Finally, your crown is designed from digital scans and Dr. Patel delivers it himself. When it fits your case, he uses an implant system that connects the crown directly to the implant, with no separate abutment, and MCDI doesn’t charge an abutment fee for those cases.

Implant or bridge?

An implant replaces the tooth without involving the neighbors. A tooth-supported bridge uses the neighboring teeth for support, which means shaping them. If a tooth can still be saved, root canal treatment is a real option too. Dr. Patel will walk through each with you.

What it costs.

Your exact fee is given to you in writing during treatment planning. Fees may vary based on individual needs and complications; grafting adds to the fee when it’s needed. In the Bensenville area, a single implant with an extraction, bone graft, custom abutment, and crown has a typical total of about $4,865 (in-network allowed) to $6,787 (provider billed), per FAIR Health Consumer, ZIP 60106, September 2026.

Questions

Does an implant affect the teeth next to it?

No. A single implant replaces the tooth without reshaping the neighboring teeth, unlike a traditional bridge.

Who places and restores the implant?

Dr. Patel, a general dentist. He places the implant in our office and delivers the final crown himself.

How long does it take?

A typical implant heals for about 3–4 months before the final crown. Grafting can add time, and every timeline depends on your case.
