Implant overdentures: a denture that snaps into place.
An implant overdenture is a removable denture that snaps onto dental implants, so it stays put when you eat and speak and still comes out for cleaning. Dr. Patel plans it from a 3D CBCT scan, places the implants in our office, and delivers the final denture himself.
How an overdenture works.
Implants are placed in the jaw, and attachments on the underside of the denture snap onto them. The implants hold the denture in place, so it moves less than a denture that rests on the gums alone. You take it out each day to clean it and the implants.
How it compares.
Compared with a conventional denture, an overdenture is more stable because implants hold it in place. Compared with fixed full-arch teeth, it usually needs fewer implants, and you remove it for cleaning instead of leaving it in. Dr. Patel will explain which fits your bone, your goals, and your budget.
If you already wear a denture.
If your current denture is in good condition and your bite on it is right, it can often be modified to snap onto the implants after they’re placed. Dr. Patel will check whether yours is a candidate.
What it costs.
Your exact fee is given to you in writing during treatment planning. Fees may vary based on individual needs and complications.
