Snoring & sleep

Snoring and sleep apnea: testing first, then treatment.

Treatment at MCDI starts with a diagnosis, not a guess. Sleepwell provides a home sleep test and a consultation with a physician, who makes the diagnosis. Based on that diagnosis and your needs, MCDI provides oral appliance therapy, QuietNite laser therapy for snoring, or a combination of both.

How it works

  1. Home sleep test. Start on Sleepwell’s page for MCDI patients (https://sleepwellnow.com/midwestoralcare), then complete a sleep test at home.
  2. Physician diagnosis. A physician reviews your results with you and makes the diagnosis.
  3. Treatment at MCDI. Dr. Patel provides the treatment that fits the diagnosis: an oral appliance, QuietNite therapy, or both.

Oral appliance therapy

An oral appliance is a custom device worn during sleep. It holds the lower jaw slightly forward to help keep the airway open. Most oral sleep appliances are made by a dental lab; night guards and splints are made in our office.

QuietNite laser therapy for snoring

QuietNite Therapy is a three-session protocol using our DEKA SmartXide CO₂ laser. It’s offered for snoring after your home sleep test and the physician’s diagnosis.

Combining both

For some patients, the physician’s diagnosis and your goals point to using an oral appliance and QuietNite therapy together. Dr. Patel explains which approach fits your diagnosis and why.
