Full-mouth restoration: rebuilding worn, broken, or failing teeth.
When many teeth need work, from heavy wear to old crowns that are failing, Dr. Shivam S. Patel plans the treatment as one restoration of your whole mouth instead of one tooth at a time. Crowns, bridges, and implants are planned together, and you try the new bite and appearance in printed temporaries before your final restorations are made.
Who it’s for.
A full-mouth restoration may be the right approach if you have many teeth that are worn down, broken, or heavily filled; a bite that has collapsed and made your teeth look shorter; old crowns, bridges, or implants from another office that are failing; or a mix of missing teeth and damaged teeth. Dr. Patel will tell you whether a full restoration is needed or whether a smaller plan would do.
Planned as one treatment, not tooth by tooth.
Planning starts with a comprehensive workup: a 3D CBCT scan, intraoral and extraoral photos, intraoral scans, a facial scan, and a full-mouth X-ray series if needed. Dr. Patel uses these to plan every crown, bridge, and implant together, so each tooth fits the bite and appearance of the whole mouth.
You try the new bite first.
Before your final restorations are made, we 3D-print long-term temporaries in our office. You wear them so you can get used to the new bite, including a raised bite when your teeth have worn down, and see the new look before the final restorations are made.
Crowns, bridges, and implants together.
Many full-mouth plans combine implants with crowns or bridges on your natural teeth. Most final crowns are made by a dental lab in ceramic or zirconia. Dr. Patel plans, places, and restores implants in our office, so the same doctor handles the whole plan. When failing work from another office needs to come out, he plans its repair or replacement as part of the same treatment.

When we bring in an orthodontist.
Sometimes teeth need to move before they can be restored. We provide clear aligner treatment in our office. When a case needs fixed braces, Dr. Patel works with local orthodontists and coordinates the treatment with them.
Questions
What’s the difference between a full-mouth restoration and full-arch implants?
A full-mouth restoration keeps and rebuilds your natural teeth where it can, combining crowns and bridges with implants where teeth are missing. Full-arch implants replace all the teeth in an arch.
Can you fix crowns or implants done somewhere else?
Yes. We repair or redo failing crowns, bridges, and implants from other offices, after a full evaluation.
Will I see what my teeth will look like first?
Yes. You wear printed temporaries first, so you can try the new bite and appearance before your final restorations are made.
